INTRODUCTION
The HMSA is a specialist section within HEVAC/FETA and was formed by the leading suppliers of flexible hoses to the building services sector. The specific aim of the group is to protect customers from inferior products, that have previously given rise to expensive failures and unwarranted criticism of the industry as a whole.

APPROACH
In close cooperation with BSRIA, the highly-respected research, test and information organisation serving the building engineering services sector, the HMSA achieved 2 important objectives:

• a. To develop and publish a code of practice for installers.
• b. To prepare a test standard for flexible hoses.
